Collecting oral history from farmers

Ecodyfi as part of the 'Mixed Farming - stories and the future' project has a volunteering opportunity for anyone interested in collecting oral histories from older generation farmers in the Dyfi Biosphere area. Equipment and training is provided by the National Library of Wales. We are collecting memories from Welsh speakers who remember when agriculture in the area would be more diverse: arable crops were common in some communities as recently as the 1970s.

We would also be interested to hear from any readers of the older generation who have memories of what came and where, how and by whom. Our goal is to keep to the future what we think is valuable information so that we and others can learn from the experience of our forefathers and grandparents.

If you are interested or know someone who is, in collecting oral histories through interviewing people or are happy for your memories of more diverse agricultural practices to be recorded, please contact ecodyfi on 01654 703965 or andy@ecodyfi.cymru.
